Community Outreach

The Community Outreach Program works with high-risk and medically underserved populations to provide both education and improved access to services.  The Ireland Cancer Center offers programs on campus, at inner-city clinics, and in other community locations. These programs

  • Address specific issues that may prevent the underserved  from seeking care

  • Promote cancer prevention and detection

  • Encourage behaviors that foster healthier lifestyles

The Ireland Cancer Center also sponsors several public education programs each year to address issues of interest to the community.  Previous programs have explored breast, colorectal, prostate, and gynecologic cancers, as well as genetics and cancer.
